About one Sunday a month the Youth Worship Team leads the congregation in singing. The team is made up primarily of high school students who love to sing upbeat and contemporary praise and worship music using a variety of instruments. Occasionally we even invite the younger children to play percussion along with us.
Congregational singing has always been a very important part of worship at Deep Run East. The music varies from Sunday to Sunday. Sometimes a chorister leads us in a mixture of gospel songs, historic hymns, and contemporary hymns from the Christian church around the world. Other Sundays the Adult Worship Team leads us in a mixture of praise songs and hymns. As a worshiping community we value diversity in music styles.

Did you know that choir chimes were invented here in Plumsteadville as a kid-friendly alternative to handbells? At DRE groups of all ages have fun participating in our worship services playing these instruments. Read a short, fascinating history by Carol Palermo, our director.

Individuals and small groups lead our community in worship through instrumental and vocal special music. Sometimes our children and young people participate, not so much in a performance for an audience, but rather as leading the congregation in worship.
