Enrollment

Our program is open to all children, regardless of race, color or ethnic origin.

There is a $30 registration fee as noted on registration form. To enroll your child, please complete the registration form at the bottom of the page and return with the fee to our school office.

Registration fees are nonrefundable.

Tuition for 2012-2013

3’s class $120 per month

4’s class $145 per month

Tuition is to be placed in the envelope provided and paid the first session of each month.

A typical day at preschool includes: free play, circle time, art project, music, Bible verse, snack, outdoor or gym play, show and tell or book time, and learning centers. The learning centers are designed to enhance alphabet and number recognition, matching and sorting, counting, fine motor skills, and social interaction.

Curriculum

Each day we enjoy learning about a special topic having to do with the seasons, holidays, the world around us, or the letter of the week. As we study our topic, we incorporate reading readiness, math, Bible, play and movement, social studies, science, art, and music. We want your child to have a love of learning and a love for school, so we try to make learning interesting and fun. We also want your child to have the skills necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten. We keep in mind the checklists from the local school districts on the skills they expect when a child enters kindergarten.

We try to achieve the following kindergarten readiness skills by the end of the 4’s school year:

Independence

• Recognizes first and last name
• Knows home phone number and address
• Cleans up after play and snack time
• Put on and zips or buttons coat

Listening Skills

• Follows group directions
• Knows most relationship words
• Participates in large and small group games
• Able to answer comprehension questions about stories read

Math

• Counts to 10+
• Counts 5 objects and recognizes numbers one through five

Social Skills

• Able to separate from parents
• Respects others
• Shares and takes turns
• Plays cooperatively

Motor Skills

• Catch and throw a ball, run, jump, hop, and march
• Uses scissors capably
• Able to hold pencil correctly and prints first name

Readiness Skills

• Recognizes and names colors and shapes
• Can match like objects
• Recites the alphabet
• Able to identify some beginning letters of words and suggests letters
• Able to recognize rhyming words (we love rhyming words!)
• Work on Kid Writing skills
• 4’s – January Parent/Teacher conferences to discuss child’s progress and needs
