Ten Thousand Villages International Gift Festival and Rug Event is a unique way to touch the world.

Our development arm, the Mennonite Central Committee, has a non-profit program, Ten Thousand Villages, that contracts with under-employed artisans in developing countries to pay them a fair wage to produce gift products for sale in the US and Canada. Before the Christmas season, Deep Run East has a sale of these products in the Gym /Fellowship hall. You will find unique treasures such as jewelry, home decor, ceramics, textiles, baskets and musical instruments, knowing that a significant portion of the price goes to the artisan who made the product. Ten Thousand Villages is a Fair Trade organization and receipent of one of the worlds most ethical companies of the World Award for 5 years running.


There will also be:

Thursday - Lasagna & salad dinner, 5pm-8pm or until sold out

Thursday Rug seminar 7:00pm

Friday - Light fare for lunch & dinner on Thursday and Friday, serving sausage sandwiches too at 5pm-9pm.

Saturday - Breakfast Buffet, 8am-12pm
